Niceville Florida Police Chief David Popwell announced to the Niceville City Council the last of the suspects in February’s double homicide was captured in Ohio. Popwell said all of the suspects are now in the custody of the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview.

“We did make our final arrest in the shooting over here at Props… all of the players are now in the Okaloosa County Jail and we will be pressing forward very soon,” Chief Popwell said.
According to Chief Popwell, the Niceville Police Department responded to 3,986 calls for assistance in the month of April. Calls for service continue to increase at a steady clip since the beginning of the year.
Police made eight felony arrests, five misdemeanor arrests and one DUI arrest in the month of April. While felony arrests have steadily increased since the beginning of the year, misdemeanor arrests have steadily dropped. The DUI arrest took place at the 700 block of Palm Avenue.
There were a total of 42 traffic crashes which included a total of 79 vehicles and one pedestrian. The one pedestrian was a child who was struck by a car on John Sims Parkway. The child refused medical transport to the hospital and their guardian was notified by the police department. Estimated damage to property and vehicles was $355,903 for the month.
A total of 99 traffic citations were handed out to drivers in Niceville. More than 130 traffic warnings were handed out as well.
