It’s official – Niceville’s elections for city council and mayor will change from July to March in odd-numbered years.

The Niceville City Council voted unanimously to move election day to the second Tuesday in March to be more in line with other cities in Okaloosa County and take advantage of the efficiencies that will reduce the overall costs of elections in Niceville.

Councilpersons Cathy Alley, Abner Williams and Bill Schaetzle will be the first three councilpersons up for reelection in 2023 when the change takes place.

The Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections, Paul Lux, has served in the elected position for more than a decade and served as the President of the Florida Supervisors of Elections.
