Chief David Popwell released Niceville’s October 2022 police statistics for the month of October at the city’s monthly council meeting.
Niceville In Desperate Need of Police Dispatchers

Niceville’s Police Department is in desperate need of dispatchers. As of July 12th, the department has a total of three dispatchers on the roster – a fourth dispatcher resigned last week. It leaves just one dispatcher per shift – not including holidays, vacation, or sick leave for the dispatchers currently on Niceville’s staff.
Gun Stolen From Unlocked Car connected to Niceville Double Killing

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and Niceville Police released information separately which confirmed to Mid Bay News one of the guns involved in the February killings of two men in the parking lot of a Niceville strip mall was stolen from an unlocked car in Okaloosa County last year.

Niceville Florida Police Chief David Popwell announced to the Niceville City Council the last of the suspects in February’s double homicide was captured in Ohio. Popwell said all of the suspects are now in the custody of the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview.
