OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — A major development has taken place in the long-running 2022 felony murder case out of Okaloosa County, where defendant Isaiah Lamar Luna has formally entered a nolo contendere plea, according to a Clerk’s Felony Minute Sheet signed by the court on May 14, 2026.

The court record reflects that Luna, represented by counsel, appeared in court before State Attorney Glisson and entered the plea to a charge of 3rd Degree Felony Murder with a firearm. The plea was accepted by the court as voluntary.

Following the plea, Luna was sentenced to 20 years in the Florida Department of Corrections, with a 10-year minimum mandatory term, and will receive credit for time already served. Court documents indicate he had been incarcerated for 1,478 days at the time the minute sheet was issued.

The resolution marks a significant turn in a case that has drawn sustained public attention since the original allegations tied to the 2022 incident in Niceville and surrounding investigations.

Court records confirm the plea was entered in open court and accepted without indication of coercion, concluding this stage of proceedings with a finalized sentencing order.
