Fort Walton Beach police arrested a suspect after a vehicle pursuit and foot chase through a residential neighborhood.
Officers discovered an altered aerosol can containing suspected fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine.
Nearly $6,000 in cash and trafficking-level quantities of narcotics were seized.
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — A Fort Walton Beach man is facing multiple narcotics trafficking charges after police say he led officers on a brief vehicle pursuit before fleeing on foot through a neighborhood Sunday evening.
According to the Fort Walton Beach Police Department, an officer attempted to stop a black pickup truck on Holmes Boulevard NW on March 8. Instead of stopping, the driver allegedly pulled into a driveway before driving through a yard and continuing west on Holmes Boulevard.
Police say the driver then turned south onto Robinwood Drive SW and drove through the front yard of a residence, damaging a cement mailbox before leaving the area.
A short time later, officers located the truck parked on Leila Place NW.
When officers approached the vehicle, the driver fled on foot. Officers reported seeing the suspect jump a fence into the backyard of a nearby home.
Police surrounded the area and eventually located the suspect hiding in a backyard on Leila Place, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators identified the suspect as Lekendrick Ingram.
Near where Ingram fled, officers say they discovered an aerosol can that had been modified with a hidden compartment. Inside the container, police reported finding multiple plastic bags containing suspected narcotics.
During the investigation, officers seized approximately:
54.1 grams of suspected cocaine
56.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine
7.3 grams of suspected fentanyl
11 oxycodone pills
Police also confiscated $5,983 in cash.
Ingram was transported to the Okaloosa County Jail, where he faces charges including:
Trafficking in fentanyl
Trafficking in cocaine
Trafficking in methamphetamine
Possession of a controlled substance without a prescription
Fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement
Resisting arrest without violence
In a statement included with the release, the Fort Walton Beach Police Department said suspects who endanger the community will be held accountable.
