Seven inches of snow total fell from the skies over Niceville between 1927 and 2024 – according to Extreme Weather Watch.

On Jan 21, the National Weather Service in Mobile reported Niceville received 6.5 inches of snow – more than double the record set in 1954 and tied in 1958.

The snow melted off for the most part by friday of the same week – though small mounds where children and families built snowmen in front of houses remained through Sunday.

The following week, Jan 26 through Feb 1., sees the city of Niceville return to temperatures in the 60s and 70s, a slightly warmer climate than Niceville’s average temperature for the winter months.
