This comes after he and his former deputy were charged with felonies related to their work in Walton County. The arrest affidavit from the case alleges they broke two arcane Florida State Laws concerning the “interception of oral communications” and that they “disrupted or denied the ability to transmit data on computer systems.

“I want to be clear, I am innocent of these charges,” Robertson said in the statement, “While this is undoubtedly a stressful and challenging time for myself and my family I also believe this situation presents an opportunity. It is my hope that through this process, the very corruption I attempted to expose as County Administrator will be brought to light. I am a man of faith, and I believe God has a plan. It is my resolute belief that this is part of that plan, and that truth and justice will ultimately prevail.”

According to the release, Robertson is represented by attorney Stephen Webster of Webster and Baptiste.

We requested a response to the release from the Walton County Board of County Commissioners. “As this related to an ongoing investigation, we cannot comment on the case at this time,” Walton County Public Information Officer Ron Kelley said via email.
