About Mid Bay News' Steven Saul

The Reverend Canon Steven Saul is a retired Priest from the Anglican Diocese of the South who has come to reporting as a third career.

Saul was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in communications from the University of Colorado at Boulder, An MBA from Dallas Baptist University, and a Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary.

After college, Saul worked for Electronic Database Systems and the State of Texas before entering the seminary and becoming an Anglican Priest.

He shepherded churches in Austin, Little Rock, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and Moultrie (Ga) before retiring.

When his son, Christopher, started Mid Bay News, Steven signed on to report and provide news coverage for the citizens of Walton County.

When he’s not reporting from the commission chambers and city halls of South Walton County, Steven likes to kick back and relax to jams from the 70s and 80s with his three grandchildren.
