Deadly Amount of Fentanyl Seized in Crestview Raid

In Brief:

  • Authorities seized 219 grams of fentanyl during a Crestview search warrant
  • Rasheem Posey, 47, was arrested and charged with trafficking
  • The operation involved both local deputies and federal DEA agents

Crestview, Fla. — A months-long investigation by local and federal authorities led to the seizure of a significant amount of fentanyl and the arrest of a Crestview man earlier this spring.

Members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Drug Task Force, working alongside the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, executed a search warrant at a residence in Crestview on March 10.

During the search, investigators say they discovered approximately 219 grams of fentanyl, along with two digital scales commonly associated with drug distribution.

Authorities arrested 47-year-old Rasheem Posey at the scene. He has been charged with trafficking in fentanyl, a serious felony under Florida law.

Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, is considered one of the most dangerous drugs currently impacting communities across the country due to its potency and high risk of overdose.

Officials have not released additional details about the investigation, including whether more arrests are expected.
