Emmalynn Otzenberger, a bright student at Okaloosa STEMM Academy, has been recognized as one of the Top 300 Junior Innovators in the 2024 Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge. This national STEM competition, organized by the Society for Science, highlights middle school students who excel in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Selected from a pool of nearly 2,000 talented participants across 48 states and U.S. territories, Emmalynn now stands among the top contenders vying for further recognition. On September 18, 2024, the Top 30 finalists will be announced, and those chosen will advance to compete for various prestigious awards, including the $25,000 ASCEND Award, the $10,000 Department of Defense (DoD) STEM Talent Award, the Lemelson Foundation Invention Award, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Advancement Award.
