Two out of three ain’t bad – and Niceville-area schools had two volunteers from their ranks named volunteers of the year in the youth and senior category.

Niceville High School has plenty of smart kids – and the test scores to prove it. The most recent test scores for state standardized tests, known as the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST), showed an improvement from last year – which was already head and shoulders above the state average.
Niceville Athletics looks to score a new field to reduce injuries, expand availability to all.
This field wouldn’t just be for the Football Team – according to Brecthel. “This is a community field, and you can see people using it on the weekends as you drive by on John Sims,” he noted, “every single kid will be able to touch this new field, from the band kids who won’t have to cross the street to practice, to lacrosse and soccer as well.”

At this time – the Okaloosa County School District has “updated their policies, and they are currently under legal review,” according to Okaloosa County School District Public Information Officer Catherine Card.
