Newly obtained security footage from Paradise Liquors and Bealls provides further insight into the events leading up to the death of local restauranteur Mike Ledford. The videos depict a confrontation between Ledford and Dylan Deschaine, his alleged killer, and subsequent altercations in the parking lot. Deschaine’s defense attorney has filed a motion to dismiss the case under Florida’s stand-your-ground law. A hearing on the motion is scheduled for December 19.

Niceville’s newest sushi restaurant, Post 20, held its soft opening Sunday night, honoring the memory of ‘Sushi Mike’ Ledford, who passed away in February. Co-owner Justin Trotter, alongside friends and family, celebrated the long-awaited dream while paying tribute to Mike with heartfelt stories and a mural by local artist Emily Little. The restaurant opens to the public on May 22nd, amid ongoing legal proceedings for the man accused of Mike’s death.
