Accused Ledford Killer in Court for Hearing

Accused killer of Mike Ledford, Dylan Deschaine, was in court today for a hearing. Here's what happens next in the case.

Dylan Deschaine made another appearance in court today as his case moved through the legal system.

Deschaine is accused of murdering local restauranteur Mike Ledford in February.

Listeners to the broadcast of our partner outlet, Okaloosa Court TV, could hear chains clinking in the video as DesChine walked slowly toward the podium in an orange jumpsuit to the middle of the courtroom.

DesChaine’s attorney, Brad Stewart, immediately requested that he and the prosecution’s counsel approach the bench and discuss something with Judge Terry Ketchel.

DesChaine’s eyes darted around the courtroom as people moved to the bench and then looked down at the floor.

Judge Ketchel announced that a full psychological evaluation would be conducted. Forward motion by the wheels of justice would be held until June 12th at 0900 for that evaluation to take place.

After about one minute of discussion, Stewart returned to the side of DesChaine and had a short conversation with the accused killer.

With the discussion over, Deschaine seemed to mouth the word ‘alright’ and walked back in manacles to the door where inmates wait for transportation back to the county jail in Crestview.
