Santa Rosa Beach Restaurant Employee Stabbed, Suspect on the Run

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing that took place late Saturday night outside Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar in Santa Rosa Beach.

Deputies responded to a 911 call around 10:30 p.m., reporting a fight between two men in the restaurant’s parking lot. According to WCSO, both individuals involved were employees of the establishment and had been in a verbal dispute throughout the day.

The altercation escalated after their shifts ended. One employee stabbed the other man, who was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, described as a Jamaican national in the United States on a work visa, fled the scene. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been notified, and his passport has been flagged. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office and Panama City Beach Police Department have also been alerted.

“We believe this to be an isolated incident between two individuals who are known to each other,” WCSO stated in a release.

The search for the suspect is ongoing. Authorities have not yet released names as the investigation continues.
