The Mid-Bay Bridge Rotary Club is ready to host its 30th Oktoberfest here in Bluewater Bay Friday September 27 and Saturday the 28th!

Since 1994 The Mid-Bay Rotary has organized an annual community celebration which supports many charities and locals throughout the community. Proceeds of the annual event give the club the opportunity to support many local, regional, and international causes. Causes such as Children’s Advocacy Center, Emerald Coast Autism Center, Take Stock In Children Scholarship, Rotary Youth Camp, College scholarships for High School Seniors in the Valparaiso-Niceville area, Polio Plus, ShelterBox, and Sharing and Caring to name a few.

The Oktoberfest, held in Bluewater Bay at the Winn-Dixie shopping center parking lot is sure to provide a ton of fun to the town with food, drinks, music, bounce house & slides, and
local vendors.

Oktoberfest is an annual celebration which originated in Germany.

America celebrates Oktoberfest similarly by enjoying soft pretzels, sauerkraut, oompah/German folk music, and, of course, beer. In Germany, the celebration typically lasts two weeks and most of the time you’d have to travel somewhere in Germany where these celebrations are being
held. September is typical as this is the last opportunity to enjoy the outdoors before it gets cold.

In America, Oktoberfest events are held in significantly more locations and
into October depending on where in the country you are.
So, come out, and enjoy the late September air, time with your neighbors, and the German fare! The Mid-Bay Bridge Rotary Club is grateful to be able to host this amazing event every year, and with your help supporting the event the club can continue to put Service Above Self, and provide time and resources to these fantastic local causes. As the club ended its weekly meeting in preparation for the event Harry Holmes, the club’s current president, ended the meeting with a quote from Aesop. “No act of kindness, no mater how small, is ever wasted.”
