The Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation is rolling out a new series of free Career and Technical Education (CTE) Summer Camps aimed at giving rising 6th through 9th-grade students hands-on exposure to high-demand career fields across Okaloosa County.
The program, announced for summer 2026, will feature a wide range of specialized camps hosted at schools across the district, including Fort Walton Beach High School, Niceville High School, Meigs Middle School, Baker School, Shoal River Middle School, Davidson Middle School, and Crestview High School.
The camps are designed to introduce students to career pathways in artificial intelligence, engineering, construction, public safety, web design, coding, and emergency medical response while also building leadership, creativity, teamwork, and technical skills.
Among the offerings are programs such as AI Masterminds: Innovate with Intelligence, NextGen Engineers: Build the Future, Builder Academy, Justice Leaders, Web Explorers, Creative Coders, and two Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) camps focused on hands-on healthcare training.
Superintendent Marcus Chambers praised the initiative, highlighting the importance of early exposure to workforce skills and thanking both the Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation and the Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation for their support.
“We are incredibly grateful… for investing in opportunities that inspire and prepare our students for the future,” Chambers said, noting the value of early career exploration in helping students build confidence and discover their interests.
The camps are free of charge, run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Transportation will not be provided, and space is limited.
District officials say the initiative reflects a growing push to align education with workforce needs and expand real-world learning opportunities for students across Okaloosa County.
