Okaloosa Jails Director Nolan Weeks resigned from his position on Friday, November 15th, according to Okaloosa County’s Public Information Office.
Weeks, the Jail’s fourth director in the last eight years, will join a private insurance company.
Weeks began as corrections director in 2022, after the previous jails director, Eric Esmond, resigned. He is not a certified corrections officer, but is a certified law enforcement officer.
The county is looking for a new director, and Public Safety Director Patrick Maddox will serve as the interim director.
In 2017, Previous Corrections Department Director Stefan Vaughn served as the interim Public Safety Chief after the dismissal of then Public Safety Director Alvin Henderson.
