Local Seniors: Here’s how to get a $1,000 scholarship.

The Emerald Coast Public Relations Foundation announced it is offering several $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in Okaloosa, Walton, and Santa Rosa counties. According to the organization, the scholarships are intended for students who plan to pursue a college degree in public relations, communication, marketing, or journalism.

To be eligible, the foundation states that applicants must be high school seniors residing in the three-county area with a GPA of 3.75 or higher. The application process requires a brief essay on an ethical issue in public relations or journalism and a summary of the applicant’s leadership or community service experience.

The deadline for submissions is March 15, 2027. The organization says that applications and additional information can be found at high school guidance counselors’ offices or on its website, www.ecpro.org. The foundation noted that it has previously awarded scholarships to students from numerous high schools across the region, including Fort Walton Beach, Collegiate, and Niceville high schools in 2026.
