A retired teacher who continues to spend her time helping others has been named the Niceville Good Neighbor for the month of April.

The Ryan Cabaniss State Farm Agency selected Aleta Milton, a Choctaw Beach resident and retired Okaloosa County school teacher, for her volunteer work in the Niceville community.

Milton volunteers weekly at multiple organizations. She works several shifts at Niceville Sharing and Caring, where she helps distribute food and other necessities to families in need. She also participates in the Grand Readers program at Plew Elementary School, where she helps students who are struggling to learn to read. Additionally, she serves on the Missions Committee at Point Washington United Methodist Church, helping to coordinate service projects for the church and the surrounding community.

Milton said she was surprised to learn she had been selected for the recognition. “I just try to stay involved so I don’t get bored,” she said.

Congratulations to Aleta from Mid Bay News and thanks to the Ryan Cabaniss State Farm Agency for supporting this program to highlight local community servants!
