Niceville, FWB High Schools Named to AP School Honor Roll

Niceville High School and Fort Walton Beach High School have both been recognized on the prestigious 2024 College Board AP School Honor Roll, earning Silver status for their commitment to advanced academic achievement and college readiness. The Okaloosa County School District commended the two schools for creating rigorous Advanced Placement (AP) programs that not only expand college-level learning opportunities but also meet high benchmarks for student success.

The AP School Honor Roll, an initiative by the College Board, acknowledges schools fostering a college-focused environment where students are encouraged to take AP exams, gain college credit, and prepare for higher education. To qualify, at least 40% of the graduating cohort must have taken one AP exam, 25% must have scored a 3 or higher, and at least 2% must have taken five or more AP exams across multiple grades. Niceville and Fort Walton Beach High Schools met these benchmarks, securing the Silver distinction for their achievements.

Superintendent Marcus Chambers praised the schools’ efforts, saying, “We congratulate the students and staff of Niceville High School and Fort Walton Beach High School for this remarkable accomplishment. Their hard work has not only earned this recognition but also set a high standard for academic excellence within our district.” This distinction highlights the schools’ dedication to high academic standards, enhanced college readiness, and an inclusive approach to advanced learning opportunities for all students.
