A routine traffic stop in Niceville led to a significant drug bust on Thursday when deputies from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office discovered an active methamphetamine lab in the vehicle. The incident occurred on Cedar Avenue near the intersection of Evergreen Avenue.
During the traffic stop of a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado, deputies identified probable cause to search the vehicle. The search revealed a one-pot methamphetamine lab, along with other narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Drug Task Force was quickly called to the scene to process the lab.
The two occupants of the vehicle, 35-year-old Carly E. Palucci and 33-year-old Tiffany D. Williams, were arrested and charged in connection with the discovery. Palucci faces charges of Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Equipment. Williams has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Equipment.
Palucci and Williams both have extensive criminal records related to drug activity. Palucci has prior arrests dating back to 2012, including incidents in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Williams also has a lengthy criminal history, with felony charges spanning from 2012 to as recently as 2023.
The Multi-Agency Drug Task Force, which includes members from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Crestview Police Department, Fort Walton Beach Police Department, and Niceville Police Department, continues to play a critical role in combating drug-related crimes in the region. The Task Force’s swift response to Thursday’s discovery underscores their commitment to keeping the community safe from the dangers of illegal drugs.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out additional charges as they continue to assess the situation. The successful bust highlights the importance of routine traffic stops in uncovering more significant criminal activities and keeping dangerous drugs off the streets.
