Emerald Coast Public Relations Foundation Offers $1,000 Scholarships

The Emerald Coast Public Relations Foundation is offering $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in Okaloosa, Walton, and Santa Rosa counties.
Applicants must be US citizens pursuing degrees in public relations, communication, marketing, or journalism.
Applications are due March 17, 2025, and require an essay and leadership/community service documentation.

The Emerald Coast Public Relations Foundation offers multiple $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in Okaloosa, Walton, and Santa Rosa counties who plan to pursue a college degree in public relations, communication, marketing, or journalism.

To qualify, students must meet specific criteria, including a minimum GPA of 3.75, U.S. citizenship, and a demonstrated interest in public relations or related fields. Applicants must submit a brief essay addressing an ethical issue in public relations or journalism and a list of their leadership roles or community service activities.

In 2024, Hallie Ueberroth of Milton High School and Elijah Duer from Freeport were awarded scholarships. Since its inception, the foundation has provided 11 scholarships to students from Crestview, Niceville, and Gulf Breeze High Schools and one home-schooled student.

Eglin Federal Credit Union sponsors one scholarship, and Sherry Harlow, APR sponsors another. Additional scholarships may be available. The ECPR Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting education and advancement in public relations and related fields.

The application deadline is March 17, 2025, and submissions can be made electronically or by mail. Applications and further details are available through high school guidance counselors or on the foundation’s website at www.ecpro.org.
