Senior Master Sergeant Amber Burke of Fort Walton Beach High School has been named the 2025 Overall Air Force/Space Force Outstanding Instructor of the Year — the highest honor awarded to instructors in the Air Force Junior ROTC program.
Additionally, Burke was selected as the Regional-Level Award Winner for Region 2, which encompasses multiple southeastern states. The accolades spotlight her exceptional leadership, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to cadets in the Viking JROTC program.
The Department of the Air Force presents the Outstanding Instructor of the Year award to honor AFJROTC instructors who exceed expectations in shaping and guiding student cadets through military-based leadership and character education.
Burke’s work has left a lasting impression on Fort Walton Beach High School and the broader community.
“This recognition is a testament to SMSgt Burke’s unwavering commitment to excellence and service,” said Okaloosa County School District Superintendent Marcus Chambers. “She exemplifies leadership and inspires our students to reach their fullest potential.”
