NICEVILLE — Veterans, active-duty military members and first responders from across Walton and Okaloosa counties will have an opportunity to gather, enjoy a meal and be recognized for their service during an appreciation event in Niceville this fall.
A Superior Mechanical will host its inaugural Veterans and First Responders Appreciation Lunch on Tuesday, October 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Niceville Community Center, 204 Partin Drive North.
The event is designed to bring together members of the community to recognize and thank those who have served in the military or work to protect and serve others.
As part of the event, A Superior Mechanical will donate a new hot water heater, including installation, to one first responder or veteran in need.
The giveaway is open to veterans who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard, as well as first responders including EMTs and medics, law enforcement officers, sheriff’s deputies and firefighters.

The appreciation lunch will include a hot meal catered by Swiftly Catered, a welcome from event sponsors and supporters, and the water heater giveaway.
The event will also feature participation from local schools. Niceville High School will present the colors, while Rocky Bayou Christian School will perform the national anthem.
The City of Niceville and Niceville Community Center are supporting the event. Walton and Okaloosa County businesses are also being encouraged to participate as sponsors.
Organizers said the event is intended to allow the community to come together and show appreciation for the veterans, active military members, and first responders who serve the region.
