The book follows the story of Ava, a tech CEO, and Jo, a Christmas card photographer, as they navigate an enemies-to-lovers romance set in a fictional queer-friendly town. Schaefer, who co-wrote the book with her creative partner, hopes to bring fun and inclusivity to queer storytelling while highlighting the personal journey of self-discovery.
