A Crestview woman is facing charges in Oklahoma after authorities say a live homemade explosive device and several firearms were found during a traffic stop.
According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol stopped Madeline Haner, of 607 Alabama Street in Crestview, on August 25 as she was traveling through Oklahoma.
During a search of Haner’s vehicle, troopers reportedly found a live homemade explosive device among her belongings, along with several firearms.
Haner was arrested by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and charged with unlawful possession of an explosive and use of a firearm while committing a felony. She is currently being held in Oklahoma without bond, according to OCSO.
The Oklahoma arrest follows a search of Haner’s Crestview residence earlier this month.
On August 8, OCSO deputies executed a residential search warrant at 607 Alabama Street. During the search, deputies located live homemade explosive devices inside the residence, the sheriff’s office said.
OCSO has also obtained an active warrant for Haner in connection with the Florida investigation.
The warrant charges her with violating Florida Statute 552.22(1), manufacturing an explosive device with intent to cause harm or death, a second-degree felony.
A hold has been placed on Haner by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
The allegations against Haner have not been proven in court.
