Wondering When Your Street Gets Sprayed? You’re in luck.
Okaloosa County has launched an interactive online map to help residents stay informed about mosquito spraying schedules in their neighborhoods. The digital tool allows users to look up the date and time their area is set to receive treatment.
Nightly mosquito spraying began on Monday and will continue throughout the summer, with operations starting approximately one hour before sunset. The countyโs environmental staff update the map regularly based on mosquito trap data and weather conditions.
The initiative is part of the countyโs annual mosquito control efforts aimed at minimizing health risks and the general nuisance that comes with the Florida summer. Residents are encouraged to visit the map link and take preventative stepsโsuch as dumping standing water and using insect repellent.
Additional resources, including current mosquito counts and spray area updates, are available on the countyโs mosquito control website.
For a look behind the scenes at how spraying works, the county has also shared a video showing its trucks and techniques in action.
This update follows previous coverage from Mid Bay News announcing the start of seasonal mosquito control measures.
Residents with questions or feedback about the program can contact the Environmental Services Division for more information.
