The 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing will officially activate the 337th Electronic Warfare Squadron during a ceremony at Eglin Air Force Base on May 11, marking a major expansion of the Air Force’s international F-35 electronic warfare mission.
The activation ceremony will also formally inactivate the F-35 Partner Support Complex, a unit responsible for developing, testing, and fielding mission data used by allied nations operating the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II fighter jet.
According to Air Force officials, the transition reflects the growing scale and strategic importance of the mission at Eglin.
Col. Candice M. Sperry will preside over the ceremony, while Bryan Isley will assume responsibility for the newly activated squadron.
The F-35 Partner Support Complex currently supports several allied partner nations, including Australia, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Denmark. The mission has recently expanded to include Japan, South Korea, and Israel through foreign military sales agreements.
Officials said the unit tailors support to the unique operational requirements of each nation. Some partner nations embed personnel directly into the production and testing process, while others receive completed mission data products developed at the facility.
As the mission continues to grow, the 337th Electronic Warfare Squadron will provide electronic warfare technical, operational, and maintenance expertise supporting allied combat capabilities around the globe.
The activation ceremony is scheduled for 1:37 p.m. on May 11 at the Weapons Load Training Hangar in Building 1344 on Nomad Way at Eglin Air Force Base. A reception will follow immediately after the event.
