The Niceville Police Department announced on social media a vehicle burglary arrest made in Niceville on the morning of January 14. Michael Shawn Reiley was arrested in connection to recent vehicle burglaries in the area.
Reiley faces charges including felony grand theft of a firearm, possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon, and armed burglary. Authorities indicated that additional charges may be forthcoming.
Police reported that all stolen firearms have been recovered and will be returned to their owners.
In a statement, the department thanked community members who submitted video evidence that aided the investigation.
Niceville Police remind residents to remove valuables, particularly firearms, from their vehicles and to lock their doors to prevent theft.
