
The city of Valparaiso will have two separate closures for city offices in the month of June.
The city will observe the Juneteenth federal holiday on June 20th. Typically, the holiday memorializes the emancipation of the last enslaved people in the rebellious territory in Texas two years after Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation is observed on the 19th of June.
City of Valparaiso offices will close for the entire day. This is the second year the city will celebrate the holiday, in accordance with the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act.
Additionally, the Valparaiso city offices will close at 11am on June 24th for employee appreciation day.
The city of Niceville will also observe the Juneteenth Federal Holiday in 2022.
The city of Niceville announced on its website all city offices and public works will be closed on June 20th. Additionally, the Turkey Creek Boardwalk and Pavilion will be closed for this holiday.
