This new position, with an estimated cost of $100,000 plus benefits, will oversee all hired employees and directly report to the City Commission. While retaining the Commission form of government, the City Manager will take charge of day-to-day operations, enhancing efficiency within the legal framework. Commissioner Tom Browning dissented, emphasizing that the city may not need this managerial shift.
