A road rage incident shut down the off-ramp to SR-20 for a short period of time over the weekend on Sunday, April 3rd.

No one was hurt in the shooting incident, but Okaloosa sheriff’s deputies responded in force to the incident.

Road rage is a serious issue in the United States. According to Policyadvice.net, road rage is the cause of about 30 murders every year and more than a third of car crashes involve road rage in some way shape or form.

Additionally, cases of road rage involving guns doubled between 2014 and 2016 – to 620.

A Northwest Florida Law Firm, Brill and Rinaldi, cites a study that reports that in a seven-year period, more than 10,000 road rage incidents were reported to the police and resulted in more than 12,000 personal injury cases.
