ROSEMARY BEACH, Fla.: Restaurant Paradis’ ninth annual Prohibition Repeal Wine Dinner raised $17,500 for the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF) on January 11. The event, presented by Silver Sands Premium Outlets, featured a Gatsby-themed evening with a five-course dinner and wine pairings.
Guests at the Rosemary Beach restaurant began the evening in the bar area with specialty cocktails served in commemorative glasses provided by Buddy’s Seafood. The dinner featured a multi-course meal prepared by Paradis’ chef, Mark Eichin, with wine pairings from Break Thru Beverage Group. Local businesses and individuals sponsored the courses, including Robert and Dana Hahn, Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty, Newman-Dailey Resort Properties, and Jeff Garrard of Northwestern Mutual.
Entertainment for the evening included live music by Mari Gleason, sponsored by Inlet Beach Real Estate, and floral arrangements by Beachside Blooms, sponsored by 30A Luxury Vacations. Boo Media captured the event, sponsored by Swiftly Catered.
Proceeds from the dinner support DCWAF, an organization that raises funds for children’s charities in Northwest Florida. Since its founding in 2005, DCWAF has donated $35 million to organizations assisting youth facing health challenges and abuse. The foundation ranks among Wine Spectator Magazine’s “Top 10 Charity Wine Auctions in the U.S.”
“On behalf of our 17 partner children’s charities, we are honored to be the recipient of this year’s Prohibition Repeal Dinner,” said Karah Fridley-Young, president of DCWAF. “Our friends at Paradis share our commitment to helping children in need in Northwest Florida, and we are grateful for their support.”
Restaurant Paradis will partner with DCWAF again on April 26 for a Patron Dinner featuring a multi-course menu and wine pairings from Domaine Serene. The event will be hosted by Paradis owners Monica and Danny Cosenzi, along with Robert and Dana Hahn, as well as Levin and Jessica Bracken. Proceeds will benefit Point Washington Medical Clinic.
