Have you ever looked towards Boggy Bayou as you pass the Coffee Shoppe on John Sims Pkwy and seen the little pocket park with the dock and thought to yourself “I’d love to go there on the weekend with the kids – but where would I park?”

Apparently, Rep Patt Maney has thought the same thing too. With support from the city of Niceville, the state rep has filed HB 4549 to reserve $5 million in state money to build an overpass walkway to connect the little pocket park with the Turkey Creek Nature Trail complex.

As of right now the bill is waiting to be heard by the appropriations committee and the infrastructure and tourism appropriations subcommittee, but we will keep you up to date as the bill moseys along.
