Fundraiser to highlight 15 years in service to the community

Get ready to put on your tropical or beachy outfit and enjoy an evening of live entertainment, dancing, delicious eats, and a beautiful venue, all while supporting a great cause! Opportunity Place presents the Opportunity Oasis fundraiser event on Saturday, May 13, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Island Resort in Fort Walton Beach. This year, the event celebrates and supports 15 years of non-profit service in Okaloosa and Walton counties.

Tickets are priced at $50 each, and the event will feature fire twirling by Emerald Flame Dance, live music by Nik Flagstar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and cash bar. DJ Dan Davis will provide the music and dancing, while attendees can participate in a silent auction and door prizes.

Opportunity Oasis fundraiser event is presented by Mortgage Professionals Providing Hope (MPPH), a collective of mortgage professionals dedicated to providing people with access to safe housing and quality education through charitable programs. Dale Vermillion, the founder of MPPH, expressed the organization’s honor to partner with Opportunity Place, the only emergency shelter for families in Okaloosa and Walton County. Vermillion noted that MPPH has witnessed Opportunity Place equip, empower, and help hundreds of families find stable housing over many years. He said that the staff at Opportunity Place is experienced and excellent at providing opportunities for those in their care, and they are proud to play a small part in their mission.

Opportunity Oasis fundraiser event’s 100% of the proceeds will go to the support of Opportunity Place, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The organization aims to transform the lives of families experiencing homelessness by empowering them with the skills, resources, and opportunity to build a sustainable future.
