A Wunderbar Niceville Beer Festival

3rd Planet Brewing & The Knights of Columbus will be hosting their annual Oktoberfest. The event will be Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 11 am until 9 pm. So, enjoy 3rd Planet’s master craft brewing and the Knights of Columbus’ brats. Music will keep the party going from 5 pm-8 pm by Tall Cotton, an Edelweiss German Band.

3rd Planet Brewing – Founded in 2015 by two Air Force veterans, 3rd Planet has been a Niceville watering hole favorite. Producing just under 2,000 barrels annually, the brewery was among the Brewers Association’s “50 Fastest Growing Breweries” in 2019.

The quality of their product and service, “from grain to glass,” is a major factor in 3rd Planet Brewing’s success. Open seven days a week, 3rd Planet Brewing and their guest food trucks provide a fantastic place for Niceville-ians and our neighbors to gather with friends and families.

What is Niceville Oktoberfest?

Oktoberfest – Ich leiben Oktoberfest! There is something special about the change in the weather, the music, Bavarian soft pretzels, sauerkraut, and the spirit of the celebration. But what exactly is Oktoberfest? According to brief research and pop-culture movies such as Beerfest, Oktoberfest is a German-American cultural celebration. The festival serves as a way for Germans across America to celebrate their heritage and a way for non-Germans to be a part of that celebration.

German Oktoberfest and Oktoberfest celebrated in America are similar; however, in America, you are likely to find a more extended period for the events and drastically more locations. In Germany, the celebration is typically in two weeks, and you may have to travel to areas that host an Oktoberfest celebration. Okay, so why September when we call it Oktoberfest? Essentially, starting Oktoberfest in September gives patrons of the events opportunities to enjoy warmer weather and longer days. These celebrations last into October and, in some areas, even into November.

I highly recommend participating in the upcoming event if you have never been to an Oktoberfest celebration. I hope to see you there!
