Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) is pleased to announce that its President, Dr. Devin Stephenson, is set to receive the University of Alabama College of Education’s prestigious 2023 Harold L. Bishop Award for Leadership. This distinguished honor is a testament to Dr. Stephenson’s exceptional 30-year career and his profound contributions to the fields of education and leadership.

The Harold L. Bishop Award for Leadership is a highly esteemed recognition presented by the Capstone Education Society Alumni. It celebrates University of Alabama alumni who have emerged as outstanding leaders in the realm of education. This award pays tribute to the late Dr. Harold Bishop, a distinguished figure who served as a professor of educational administration within the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Technology Studies. Notably, Dr. Bishop was one of the first African American faculty members at The University of Alabama, leaving an indelible mark on the institution.
