Northwest Florida State College will host a four-day summer camp to prepare students in grades 8 through 12 for careers in high-demand fields.
The Futures Forward Summer Camp, which costs $100, is scheduled for this summer on the college’s main campus in Niceville. It will feature hands-on programming in five career areas: ESports, healthcare (branded as “Scrubs”), carpentry, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
“This camp is more than just a summer activity—it’s a stepping stone into future careers,” Rhonda Springfield, the college’s executive director of K-12 programs and campus engagement, said in a statement. “We’re giving students access to technology, tools, and mentors that will spark curiosity and fuel innovation.”
Participants will have the opportunity to gain practical skills and connect with professionals in their fields of interest. According to the college, enrollment is limited, and demand is already high.
