DeMeo Named to Florida College System Activities Association's Hall of Fame

It’s official: Coach Steve DeMeo is a basketball legend! The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has announced that DeMeo will be inducted into the Men’s Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2023. As the head coach for the Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) Raiders men’s basketball team, DeMeo has accomplished amazing feats that have garnered national recognition.

Under his leadership, NWFSC won a national championship in 2015, and DeMeo was named the Spalding NJCAA National Coach of the Year. The Raiders also turned in a remarkable six-year record of 170-27 (.863), advanced to the Elite Eight three times, and earned four FCSAA State Tournament Championships in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.

DeMeo’s achievements have not gone unnoticed by NWFSC President, Dr. Devin Stephenson, who said: “I am extremely proud of Coach DeMeo for earning this recognition as an inductee of the FCSAA Men’s Basketball Hall of Fame. His integrity, passion, and decision-making skills make him one of the best, and this recognition is well-deserved.”

Steve DeMeo returned to Northwest Florida State College for the 22-23 season. DeMeo won a national title with the Raiders less than ten years ago and has the number one JuCo team in the country. He plans to make another run this year.
