Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) will showcase student and faculty artwork at the 2025 Arnie Hart Juried Student and Faculty Exhibition, set to open on April 10 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center (MKAC) Galleries. The exhibition, which runs through May 10, features 75 selected works by NWFSC students, along with works by several NWFSC faculty members.

Caitlin Rhea, MFA, Curator of Education at the Pensacola Museum of Art, served as this year’s guest judge. The annual exhibition provides students an opportunity to present their work to the public and compete for awards, including a Best-in-Show prize that grants the winner a one-semester scholarship.

The exhibition is made possible through donations from Ms. Jean Hart in memory of her late husband, Arnie Hart, who founded the college’s ceramics program and taught at NWFSC from 1966 to 1999.

An opening reception and awards ceremony will take place on April 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at MKAC Galleries, located in Building 110 on the college’s Niceville campus. Opening remarks and awards will begin at 6:15 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, with food and beverages provided. The reception will also feature a performance by Skylar Smith, Assistant Professor of Voice & Theory and Director of Voices NWFSC, and Dr. Alex Lo, Assistant Professor of Piano & Music.

Gallery hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with additional access 90 minutes before most Mainstage and Sprint Theater performances.
