Critical Thinking Talents on Display at FIFA/FCSAA Tournament

Niceville, Florida – The Northwest Florida State College Forensics Team recently competed in two highly competitive tournaments: the Florida Intercollegiate Forensics Association (FIFA) Tournament at the University of West Florida, and the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Tournament hosted virtually by Miami Dade College. The team’s exceptional performance earned them multiple accolades, including the most wins among the top five of competitors.

At the FIFA Tournament, the team won first place in the Limited Entry Individual Events Sweepstakes, and several of its members were recognized for their individual achievements. Isaiah Taylor was named the Top Novice in Persuasive, Lola Sennett was named the Top Novice in Informative, and Aleksandria Herr placed fifth in Persuasive.

At the FCSAA Tournament, the NWFSC Forensics Team continued its winning streak, securing second place in the Individual Events Sweepstakes and the Overall Tournament Sweepstakes. Once again, Isaiah Taylor shone in the Persuasive category, taking home second place, and he also placed fourth in Impromptu. Lola Sennett also took second place in Informative, and Aleksandria Herr placed sixth in Persuasive and in the International Public Debate Association (IPDA) format.

Dr. Devin Stephenson, NWFSC President, expressed pride in the team’s achievements, saying, “Our forensics team showcased the excellence of our students at the FIFA and FCSAA tournaments. Their hard work and dedication have made a tremendous impact at the state level, and I am proud of their achievements.”
