CRESTVIEW, Fla. — The City of Crestview has announced that sections of East Redstone Avenue will experience intermittent nighttime closures beginning Tuesday, October 22, and continuing through Wednesday, November 5, 2025. The closures are part of ongoing drainage improvement work associated with the city’s East Redstone Avenue and State Road 85 intersection realignment project.

City officials said the affected area will span from the intersection of State Road 85 and East Redstone Avenue to the intersection of East Redstone Avenue and Brookmeade Drive. During the nighttime closures, motorists should expect lane restrictions, temporary detours, and potential delays as crews work to complete essential drainage upgrades safely and efficiently.

“The intermittent closures are necessary to ensure the safety of both our crews and the traveling public while we complete this critical infrastructure work,” a City of Crestview spokesperson said. “We encourage drivers and local businesses to plan and allow extra travel time through the affected area during the work hours.”

The drainage improvements are part of a broader project to realign the intersection of East Redstone Avenue and State Road 85. The project is designed to improve traffic flow, enhance roadway safety, and reduce flooding in the area. By upgrading the stormwater drainage system, the city aims to minimize road closures due to water accumulation during heavy rain events and improve the long-term resilience of the roadway.

City officials also noted that while the work is primarily scheduled for nighttime hours to limit daytime disruptions, residents may experience brief closures or detours outside these times if necessary. Signage will be posted in advance to alert drivers of upcoming closures, and traffic control personnel will be on site to guide motorists through the work zone.
