Yet another IT threat is out, about and attempting to gain access to the City of Niceville’s servers – according to City of Niceville IT Director Chad Morris.

Morris says that the increased international tension surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war and escalating rhetoric between China and Taiwan means that hackers are working overtime to get into all levels of the American government.

According to Morris, the city has to monitor about 10 million events on its server a month – and any one of those events could be malicious. “I’m not stressing a whole lot over them,” Morris said about the events he brought up to the council,” Because we know about [those attempts], the ones we don’t know about, really, are the problems,” Morris concluded.
