We are thrilled to announce that Mary Wright has been selected as the recipient of the Ryan Cabaniss State Farm Niceville Good Neighbor Award for September 2025! Nominated by Sandy Sims, Mary’s dedication to her community and her tireless work at Edge Elementary School make her an exemplary choice for this honor.
Mary pours her heart into community service in Niceville, particularly through her leadership of the tutoring program at Edge Elementary School. For over 15 years, Mary has coordinated a dedicated group of volunteers from the Church on Bayshore who visit the school every Tuesday and Thursday for one-hour sessions to support teachers and students in grades K-2.
This incredible group ensures that every child who needs a tutor, as identified by their teachers, receives personalized support. Mary’s commitment goes beyond scheduling—she organizes special holiday gifts for the students and arranges substitute tutors to maintain consistency. The tutoring program’s first session of the 2025 school year begins next Tuesday, and Mary is ready to lead the charge once again!
Mary expressed that she is “over the moon” to receive this award but emphasized that it truly belongs to her entire team. She credits the group of men and women who volunteer alongside her, stating, “I could not do this without the great team of people I have that helps me. Everyone in the group earned this award collectively.” She also extended a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Sandy Sims for the nomination, noting that she feels “VERY blessed” to be recognized.
Mary’s nominators highlight her as someone with “the biggest heart,” who works diligently to ensure the tutoring program runs smoothly. Her ability to connect with teachers, volunteers, and students while fostering a supportive environment is truly remarkable. As a volunteer herself, Mary’s leadership and appreciation for her team shine through in everything she does.
Join us in congratulating Mary Wright for her outstanding contributions to the Niceville community and for embodying the spirit of a true Good Neighbor!
