Niceville’s City Council made it’s decision about the charities and non-profits it will support in 2023. In total, the city was asked for about $28,000 in donations from various agencies and approved $22,500. 

Charities and non-profits include:

• Bridgeway Center: $1,600. The Bridgeway center, located in Fort Walton Beach, is a mental health services provider that helps people countywide. 

• Niceville-Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce: $5,000. The Niceville-Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce works to promote local business in the Mid Bay Area.

• Niceville High School Track Program: $2,500. The Recent State Champions in Boys and Girls Track received $2,500 from the city. 
• Okaloosa County Economic Development Corporation: $5,000. The EDC looks to lure businesses big and small to set up shop in Okaloosa County. 
• The Okaloosa-Walton Early Learning Coalition: $1,800. The Early Learning Coalition of the Emerald Coast works to ensure every child is ready to succeed in school by the time their enter primary education. 
• The Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra: $1,600. The fully professional Orchestra, led by director Todd Craven, resides at Northwest Florida State College. 
• Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center: $1,800. The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center works with children who have been abused or neglected to ensure they can lead happy and healthy lives. Last summer, the center’s Niceville location suffered a fire that forced a remodel of the building. 
• Guardian Ad Litem: $1,600. Guardian Ad Litem works to represent and defend children who’ve suffered from abuse with volunteers who advocate on their behalf. 
• Northwest Florida Heritage Museum: $1,600. The Heritage Museum, located in Valparaiso, preserves the history of our area through artifacts, displays and cultural events.
