The Niceville-Valparaiso Rotary Club announced the cancellation of the Niceville Christmas Parade today at about 11:30 AM.
The Parade had previously been rescheduled due to inclement weather on December 2nd.
“Again, after careful consideration of the weekend weather forecast, the Niceville-Valparaiso Christmas Parade scheduled for Saturday, December 9th, 2023, is CANCELLED!,” a note from Rotary’s point person for the event, Jimmie Boisjolie, said in a note, “We are so disappointed to not be able to proceed with the event.”
Boisjolie added in a phone call about the event they could not reschedule due to other conflicts.
The Rotary Club will have a Gift-wrapped toy collection box at the Niceville Library on Friday and Saturday for people who want to drop off toys for the kids in the Toys for Tots Program.
The Niceville Christmas Parade has been a staple of the community for decades and features dozens of floats and marchers from city organizations, non-profits and private companies. The highlight of the event is the arrival of Santa Claus on a Niceville Fire Department Truck.
