The heart of the weekend’s festivities revolves around the LS Schooners Dockside Restaurant & Oyster Bar, where live music will be on tap throughout the entire weekend. On Friday, October 20, the talented Alston Weeks will take the stage from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Saturday’s entertainment, scheduled for October 21, will feature the crowd-pleasing Below Alabama, also performing from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Wrapping up the weekend on Sunday, October 22, the musical delights continue with Call the Law, who will play from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. So, bring your dancing shoes and get ready to groove under the stars.

However, the true highlight of the “Missing the Mullet” weekend is the eagerly anticipated 4th Annual Mullet Toss, taking place on the picturesque beach at Bluewater Bay Marina. Scheduled for Sunday, October 22, 2023, at 4:00pm, this event combines quirky fun with a generous spirit. Participants of all ages are invited to showcase their mullet-flinging skills. Whether you’re a young child aged 0-6, a tween aged 7-12, a teenager aged 13-17, or an adult aged 18 and up, there’s a division just for you.

The registration fee for the Mullet Toss is a mere $5.00, and all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Niceville Sharing & Caring charity. It’s a fantastic opportunity to have a blast and make a difference in the community at the same time. To get involved, simply preregister at the Bluewater Bay Marina Ship Store or register on the day of the event between 2:30 – 3:45pm. You can also call the Ship Store at 850-897-2821 to preregister or for any questions.

In addition to the Mullet Toss, this year introduces a new and exciting element to the festivities – the Mullet Hair Contest. Scheduled for 7:00pm on Sunday, October 22, this contest invites participants to embrace the mullet hairstyle and compete for a prize. The winner will be determined by the enthusiastic applause of the crowd, adding an element of friendly competition to the event.

Bluewater Bay Marina’s “Missing the Mullet” weekend is not just about having fun but also about giving back to the community.
