Two Sacred Heart hospitals in the Florida Panhandle, Sacred Heart Pensacola and Sacred Heart Emerald Coast, have been named among Newsweek’s 2025 list of America’s Best-in-State Hospitals. This accolade places these hospitals among only 25 others statewide recognized for excellence in patient care, making them the only hospitals in the Panhandle to achieve this honor.
The recognition is part of Newsweek’s nationwide evaluation of 700 hospitals, developed in partnership with Statista. Rankings were based on quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, survey responses from healthcare professionals, and patient experience surveys, among other data points. Sacred Heart’s clinical excellence and high standards contributed significantly to its placement.
“Sacred Heart Pensacola always strives to positively impact our community through patient care and clinical excellence,” said Will Condon, President & CEO of Sacred Heart Pensacola. “Anyone in our area who needs healthcare can trust that when they enter our hospital, they will receive it with a focus on quality and patient satisfaction.”
In addition to this recent honor, both Sacred Heart Pensacola and Sacred Heart Emerald Coast have consistently received national recognition for quality and patient safety. Sacred Heart Emerald Coast earned a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for 2024, a distinction shared by only 15 hospitals across the state. Sacred Heart Pensacola also maintains a string of “A” Hospital Safety Grades from the Leapfrog Group, demonstrating its commitment to patient safety.
“We are grateful for our care teams and support staff at Sacred Heart Emerald Coast who have earned this recognition through their dedication and hard work,” said Trey Abshier, President & CEO of Sacred Heart Emerald Coast. “They are the reason we are continually honored for quality, patient experience, and patient outcomes.”
