Good news for outdoors enthusiasts, the Turkey Creek canoe and kayak launch has made it past its materials issues and has a new date for completion.
The launch will be just to the north of the walking complex, on the property with the brick home.
Like everything else, the project was affected by supply chain shortages in the last year.
Amy Hanson, the Niceville City Employee in charge of Grants, says that the project will be finished by August, 2022.
Crews are continuing to work on the facility – which will include a fully ADA-accessible canoe and kayak launch as well as an observation tower and an ADA compliant place to fish.
The project is funded by a grant the city received for just this purpose and will link into the greater Turkey Creek complex that is a landmark in the city.
