Florida Highway Patrol swarmed a home off 27th Street today, much to the curiosity of neighbors and passersby.
State Troopers announced Thursday afternoon they had executed a search warrant for Leslie Pete Watson, 42, of Hickory Avenue, for fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement.
He’s now charged with a third-degree felony.
Troopers, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Deputies and Niceville Pollice surrounded the home on Hickory and demanded Watson surrender.
Watson refused, and the State Troopers called in their Special Response Team to crash the house. Troopers moved in and arrested Watson without injury to him or the troopers.
Watson was transported to the Okaloosa County Jail, where he awaits trial for fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
Leslie Pete Watson has a record in Okaloosa County that dates back to a worthless check he attempted to pass off in 2002, when he was 20 years old.
